Well 2013 is here Happy New Year and all the very best to you all.

Christmas was great this year with the kids, they were so excited.

I really enjoyed watching their faces as they woke up and walked downstairs in the
morning.

Ayrton was on great form and was bouncing off the ceiling for about a week with excitement.

Starlia didn't seem all that interested in opening her presents – she just thought it was great she could eat lots of chocolate at 7 o'clock in the morning.

I took a few days off to enjoy with family and friends before getting back to the training schedule.

At the moment I feel in great shape and very satisfied with the progress I've made over the past eight weeks.

I start riding the bike this week.

We tested a little before Christmas but not much, so it will be good to get our heads down and work hard over the next six weeks leading up to the first race.

It won't be long before it's upon us and we have to make every day count so we are in the best position possible for the first British round at FatCat.

Hopefully the wettest weather has passed as many of our good practice tracks have been closed.

If it continues we will head for a more dry climate to get the work done.

I passed my theory and road bike test before Christmas so I was pleased – it was quite a nice feeling to pass.

The Honda Off-Road Experience days are filling up fast too which is great.

My first day with those is February 15, something I'm also really looking forward to. If anyone is looking to find out more details, you can log onto the Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road centre website or find us on facebook.

I managed to get one of the new Montesa trials bikes from the workshop to play around on over Christmas.

I got out a couple of times near me, It was a good bit of fun just to mess around on and also good for a bit of training.

I'm very pumped on riding this week, with some long hard weeks of motos to follow.

I'm not racing in the supercross event this year, although it's something I really enjoy.

But I just want to concentrate on my riding ready for when it counts.

Catch up soon and take care.
