AFTER being hit with a bout of grizzly weather for its series opener two weeks ago, Rhayader MC once again plays host to some of the nation's hottest riders when it holds the second of its Welsh Open Motocross meetings at Cwmythig Hill, next Wednesday evening, June 18. Despite the weather there was a good turnout of nearly 1,500 spectators to watch the first round of the series a couple of weeks ago and they saw some great racing on the spectacular hillside circuit just outside Rhayader, Mid-Wales.
The Cwmythig Hill course features a massive finish line table-top jump, a downhill ski jump, the infamous wall of death berm as well as a new whoop section and always produces close, exciting racing on the night.
Three classes are catered for on the night; Experts, Seniors & Juniors and Novices & Local Beginners, all having three races and then the racing heats up for two final ‘Dash for Cash' races for the top Experts on the evening.
Heading the list for this meeting and competing for the massive £800 Expert class prize money is round one winner Ray Rowson and Mark Hucklebridge, and other leading names already entered are British championship regulars Jamie Lewis and Ashley Greedy.
The site also boasts a full trackside PA system and keeping the large crowds fully updated on the action will be the voice of motocross himself Kenny Kay.
As well as the 11 races, there's kids mini quad rides, bouncy castle's, refreshments, a licensed bar, a tarmac drive leading into the circuit with excellent hard parking and permanent toilets, in fact everything for the family to enjoy a good evenings entertainment.
Entry fee is just £5 with children under 14 free and Cwmythig Hill will be well signposted from Rhayader.
First race kicks off at 6.45pm.
