Rocket up 'em
By TMX Archives on 23rd Jul 08

THE pressure is on for two of the MKM Rocketman Suzuki riders to keep standards high as they travel to round five of the QRA British Quad Endurance Championship at Cwmcynydd Forest, near Bwlch-y-Sarnau, five miles north of Rhayader, this Sunday, July 27. One of the pair is reigning Pro class champion, Steve Atkins (pictured), who so far this year, has been bridesmaid to series leader Paul Winrow, who goes to Sunday's event on cloud nine after getting back the ACU British QuadX title which he has now held nine times.
The other MKM Rocketman Suzuki rider with work to do to keep up with team-mates Lewis Hill, Josh Chillcott and Liam Rylands who each won their classes at round four, is 700cc Suzuki King Quad-powered Simon Porky' Davies in the Can Am 4x4 Class. He has the very consistent Stephen Williams to chase after to make it a clean sweep in all five classes.
Can it be done or will one of the many other very capable riders spoil the party and spring a surprise?
The three-hour event, which takes place around the woodland and enjoyable mixed terrain of Cwmcynydd Forest and adjacent land, is open to Support class riders as well as QRA Championship
riders.
For an entry contact Gaynor Nash on 01264-354259.
The venue for this round of the QRA British Championship which is being organised with MWDT MC&QC will be signposted off the B4518 road at Pant-y-Dwr, five miles north of Rhayader.
The flag drops to set the Pro Class away at 10am.
