Sagar's sweet with Husaberg

FOR the 2009 season, Tom Sagar will defend is British Enduro crown on a Husaberg, teamed with Ollie Moyce under the team banner of Midwest Husaberg UK.Sagar's schedule will include the full British Enduro Championship calendar, in addition to European and World Enduro championship rounds, plus the GBXC series and Erzberg and other extreme enduro events. Midwest Racing is run by former rider, Simon Moulter, and his business partner, Graham Ward, with both Husaberg and Husqvarna franchises.
The bike business is run alongside Midwest MCC which organises its own Hare Scramble/ Enduro series
across the south west of the country.
Last week the club released details of the Hewitt International-sponsored Championship series which will be staged over eight rounds running through the year from February through to November. The dates have been released, but the venues are still under negotiation.
The dates are: February 15, March 22, May 10, June 14, July 26, September 13, October 18 and November 22.
For 2009 everyone contesting the series must to club members to make entries easier and faster for both competitors and the organisers. The series will also make use of wristband lap-scoring tag. This will enable the organisers to offer a live results service' throughout its events.
The various classes will start with dead-engines in waves, with a one-minute buffer between each start wave.
New for 2009 will be a Youth race, running across three classes 125cc two-stroke or 250cc four-stroke age 14 -16; Big-wheel 85cc two-stroke or 150cc four-stroke age 12-14; and Small-wheel 85cc two-stroke or 150cc four-stroke age 9 -12.
The Youth race will run between 9.30am and 11am and the Adults will start at 12 noon at each round.
The club will also run an adult grading system whereby any rider finishing in the top six in their class at the end of the 2008 season will be upgraded. Obviously this will not apply to the Expert class.
Adult Prize fund will be awarded to the top ten riders overall in each group at the end of the championship season at the following rate: 200, 160, 120, 100, 90, 80, 70, 65, 60 and 55. Expert prize fund will be cash and all other groups will be prize vouchers to purchase goods to the value of the prize fund. Competitors will also receive trophies to be collected at the awards presentation evening.
