THE sweet sound of screaming strokers will echo once again this Sunday, May 6, as the the second round of the exciting and extremely popular DEP British Two-Stroke Championship heads to Mildenhall and, after a very successful opener at Canada Heights, everyone is chomping at the bit to see lots more action from the strokers.
After a superb performance at the Heights to takethe win in the Expert 125cc class, Honda mounted David Willett will behoping for more of the same at the Mildenhall facility.
Dave enjoys the sand and will again be one of thefavourites going into the race, but he will definitely need to be onhis toes to fend off young guns Nicky Watts, TM's Irish challengerStuart Edmonds, Jim Davies and Relentless Suzuki rider Matt Ridgeway.
These guys will be determined not to let Willett control from the front so expect fireworks from the moment that the gate drops.
The evergreen Mark Eastwood will also be lookingfor the same kind of dominance in the Expert 250cc class. Mark cameaway with a maximum at the first round in Swanley but will he be ableto perform the same in the sand of Mildenhall?
There will be a whole batch of riders trying toput paid to his winning ways including Ryan Voase, the disco kinghimself Stuart Flockhart, who is the reigning DEP series champion, BenTaylor and Dave Willett who will be trying to achieve a double victoryin both Expert groups, but they will all have to be right on their gameto challenge Eastwood and his trusty CR250.
In the Junior 125cc class, Adam Reynolds islooking to add to his points tally and hopefully stay ahead of PaulShires and Sean Stevens. These three riders topped the podium at theCanada Heights opener but are they going to be as strong in the sand ofMildenhall - we shall see.
Ricky Lethaby, Alex Smith and Eddy Carr were thetop three boys in the 250cc Junior class at the first round, and allthree riders will be looking to shine and increase their pointsadvantage on the chasing pack of riders breathing down their necks whoinclude Kenneth Fuller, Arron Sewell and John Butler.
Racing gets under way at 10.00am sharp on Sunday at Mildenhall and the action is going to be hot, just like the weather.
