AHEAD of this Sunday's rideoffroaduk Hare and Hounds Championship event at Norwood, Teversal, near Mansfield, Notts, and with rounds three and four both running in May, the rideoffroaduk organisation can now confirm two exciting new venues for the 2009 series.
Rideoffroaduk event director, Wayne Braybrook, has been working away to ensure the momentum of the rideoffroaduk Hare and Hounds events keep on rolling.
After weeks of negotiations Wayne has located two fantastic new venues, not only that but an agreement has been reached with the landowners for their use for the next three-years. This will ensure that rideoffroaduk venues will remain in pristine condition for members without being overused.
The first and most exciting venue is a 250-acre site near Rochdale, Lancashire. The venue, known to the rideoffroaduk crew as ‘Lee Dell', will be used for round three of the 2009 series. It has woodland areas, open going and it is all linked together with some really good tracks and trails. The first event at ‘Lee Dell' will be the Lancs Grand National on May 17. At this event youth riders will run on Sunday morning for 90-minutes with the main adult class starting at 12 noon.
The second new venue is on the rolling hillsides of the Nidderdale Valley, just outside Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. This hillside venue provides unrivalled open going with some of the most spectacular views in North Yorkshire. This course will be used for round six or seven in July or August, depending on what the weather decides to do at that time of year.
With the first four events of this year's championship being at different venues and with even more new venues to be announced soon, this underlines the organisation's commitment to providing good quality events for its current supporters. New members are always welcome at any events.
Anyone still wishing to ride at Norwood Teversal this weekend should call Wayne Braybrook on 07802-572023 to reserve an entry. At the time of going to press entries were arriving thick and fast. Youths will ride Saturday at 1pm. There's a return to the popular Sportsman and Novice only event on Sunday morning between 10am to 12 noon, which means the hobby riders can enjoy their own event without the faster riders trying to push past. The main race on Sunday is scheduled for 1pm.
Coming soon are rideoffroaduk summer practice days, dates and venues will be posted on the website – www.rideoffroaduk.co.uk – in the near future.
