Youths benefit from Mike's flying visit...

MIKE Brown, the American ace who seems to have spent as much of his career in Britain and Europe as in his native USA, was over here again last week, especially to stage a series of well-attended MX schools. A man with British MX and Supercross titles to his name, Browner really enjoyed his flying visit which culminated with a successful training day for Youths at Preston Docks last week.
Mike told T+MX, I really enjoy watching the kids learn. The big difference between them here and in America, is that all the riders at home want to learn is Supercross techniques but I guess it would be the same here if there were the tracks. But it's a worry that so few want to ride traditional MX in the States.
We asked Mike why he had made a surprise switch to the World Off-Road Championship Series (Worcs) in America as this is effectively Hare and Hounds, not motocross. It's something I've always wanted to do and now I have the opportunity with KTM. The laps are a lot shorter than the (rival') GNCC series and really suit a motocross rider. I live in Tennessee and was brought-up riding off-road and I've really enjoyed the opening rounds. Mike currently leads the series after the opening three rounds.
Brown continued, I'll be back in Britain in summer for some more Training Schools and if I can, I'd like to fit in a Maxxis British Championship round, just to keep them all on their toes.
It all depends on dates and if KTM are interested in me riding. It's always a pleasure.''
