THE FIM is delighted to announce the launch of its first ever official book, with Trial 2009 due out for sale later this month. Designed by G2F Media this limited edition publication represents a full season review, covering all the rounds of the 2009 SPEA FIM Indoor Trial World Championship, the 2009 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship plus the prestigious Trial des Nations team event.
Measuring in at a mighty 330x240mm, this oversized A4 - glossy full-colour book contains 144 pages packed with exclusive images and text.
The story starts with a tribute to the star of the season Toni Bou (Repsol Montesa HRC) with the young Spanish rider having been victorious in both FIM championships, plus as a squad member in the Trial des Nations. This is followed by a series of previously unpublished images of the exotic factory bikes and their associated riders before moving seamlessly into the opening Indoor event held at the famous Sheffield arena.
From here the book follows Bou's progress throughout Europe, as the 22 year-old fights his way to his third successive SPEA FIM Indoor Trial World Championship. Award winning and World renowned photographer Ray Archer was present at all rounds of the Indoor series, and has brilliantly captured the flavour and excitement every step of the way.
The colourful catalogue continues as the action switches to the battle to secure the 2009 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship, with all eight rounds and eleven days of competition covered extensively, and with refreshing variation. The progress of all the main contenders in the World Pro, Junior and Youth classes is detailed as the campaign visits eight different countries, including the unique Japanese Grand Prix.
Eric Kitchen remains the most recognised and respected photographer within the trial paddock, and has once again shared his never ending passion for the sport by working with FIM Press Manager Jake Miller to provide an unrivalled oversight of all the outdoor action.
This ground-breaking publication, which is suitable for all ages, is rounded off with a full review of the season ending Trial des Nations event, where 20 countries fought it out.
