Sherco double act!

WE have already brought you pics of the launch of the exciting 2010 Sherco which was launched at Britain's own Dirt Bike Show. At that time there was only the one bike in existence, a two-stroke 290 which the Sherco factory burnt the midnight oil over in order that it could make it's debut in Britain. Importer Malcolm Rathmell was over the moon to have the world premier at Stoneleigh Park and quite right too!
The new lightweight chassis, with the fuel tank behind the seat as a mirror image of the new exhaust (the unique side-mounted fuel filler cap and exhaust outlet match perfectly), is the major design point and the chassis remains basically the same for all models (even the 80 we are told).
The latest pics from the Barcelona factory show that the four-stroke engine does indeed fit into that all-new frame - and you can compare it to the two-stroke.
The 2010 Sherco has been designed around the rear-mounted fuel tank and the suspension has been tweaked to take this into account.
Sherco are looking to get the new models out there in the very near future and T+MX has its name on whichever model arrives first for testing. It will be an interesting test for sure as this is the first radical change for Sherco since Marc Tessier's second trials venture made it's debut back in 1999...No doubt about it, for 2010, trials is where it's at!
