Top boys take it easy

With the first two-race overseas GP tour poised to start next week, riders were wary of taking risks at the weekend.

Rui Goncalves is still troubled by a hand injury from his big crash at Mantova.

KRT Kawasaki's Jeremy Van Horebeek stayed away from the Valence International after banging a finger during training.

Bud Racing's Dylan Ferrandis did likewise, as he has only been back on a bike for a week following a leg
peration.

Jens Getteman sat out racing in France after banging his shoulder on Saturday, while Alessandro Lupino took it easy for his first race of the year at Arco di Trento, as he had also missed several weeks' preparation with a shoulder injury.

A similar problem has meant that Arnaud Tonus has not had a race yet.

And of course the Hawkstone cancellation means that Tommy Searle, although fit and well, will head for Qatar without a single race under his belt before the GP.
