West of England's 75th Anniversary

THE West of England club celebrated its 83rd Birthday back in February, now comes the 75th time that the club has held its famous annual National' trial which has always been a prestigious and popular event, writes Mick Perry. This year, the event will comprise a round of the British ACU Sidecar Trials Championship plus a round of the ACU Traditional Trials series. The event is sponsored by Normandale.
The club will also run a Non-championship, Rigid/ Gentleman's route to cater for riders of rigid framed motorcycles and those looking for a less taxing days riding in this beautiful area of Dartmoor and South Devon. The competition, for all classes, will include riding on public roads with a route of approximately 200miles.
The West of England, to be held on Saturday, October 4, will start at Parkers Farm Holiday Park, near Ashburton, in Devon (about 300 yards off the A38, the main Exeter to Plymouth road).
Included in the entry fee, and for officials and observers, will be a souvenir mug, a commemorative programme, a bacon/ sausage roll and cup of tea/ coffee
before the start PLUS a meal at the end of the day.
A static display of bikes will remain on show all day. The club will also host a social gathering, which will include a free buffet, at the same venue in the evening.

And, don't forget that the Otter Vale Motor Club also run its National Presidents Trophy Trial on the following day in the Sidmouth area, about 25 miles away.
