Dean Wilson dramatically kept his ACU Arenacross British Championship 100 per cent win streak intact in the thanks to another flawless weekend in Belfast for the Armor Vison St Blazey Honda rider.
While Friday night’s victory was clear cut with Wilson lapping up to third place, Conrad Mewse (Crendon Tru7 Honda) was initially guided to the top of the podium on Saturday after Wilson – who crossed the finish line first - was docked several places for jumping on a yellow flag.
However, an official protest with video evidence was placed and Deano’s win was reinstated giving him a 32-point lead in the championship and almost guaranteeing he’ll wrap up the title on home soil in Aberdeen on Saturday night.
Mewse finished second on both nights to move up to third in the championship on 66 while Tommy Searle and current #1 Jack Brunell share fifth on 64 points apiece. Inaugural AX Champ Adam Chatfield still sits second in the championship after running 5-6 over the two nights.
A strong ride for Martin Barr on Friday saw the Apico Honda rider finish a fantastic third to the delight of the Belfast fans. Spurred on by the local rider’s success, every seat was filled on Saturday night to see if he could do it again, but it wasn’t to be.
