Josep Garcia confirmed as 2026 EnduroGP World Champion

Spanish Red Bull KTM star Josep García wrapped up the 2026 EnduroGP and Enduro1 World Championships in style at Saint-Agrève converting his first opportunity to seal both titles with a day to spare at the penultimate round of the season.
The 29-year-old rider came into the French GP with one hand on the crown, and despite a challenging weekend in the heat of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes hills, he delivered when it mattered most. A strong start in Friday’s Super Test - second fastest - set the tone, but it was far from straightforward once racing got underway.
Saturday proved a grind. García never quite found his sweet spot with the bike, yet still stayed firmly in the fight, taking second overall in EnduroGP behind Zach Pichon while comfortably claiming the E1 class win. It wasn’t perfect but it kept the championship firmly within reach heading into Sunday.
With the titles on the line, García came out swinging, determined to settle it on his terms. The fight for the overall went right down to the final special test, where he delivered under pressure – laying down the fastest time in the decisive Extreme Test to secure the EnduroGP win and, with it, both world titles in front of a packed French crowd.
The result marks a historic milestone. A third consecutive EnduroGP/E1 double crown makes García the first rider ever to take three straight premier-class titles, while also bringing his career tally to nine world championships.
Consistency has been the backbone of the campaign - eight overall wins, three seconds and a third place, with a podium finish on every single day of racing so far this season. In a year where others have faltered, García has simply delivered, time and time again.
With the titles now secured, the final round in Rhayader, Wales (August 7-9) becomes a victory lap but knowing García, he won’t be backing off anytime soon.
“We are 2026 EnduroGP and Enduro1 World Champions with one round still remaining,” said Josep. “Even in our best dreams, we could not have imagined a season like this. We have taken eight overall victories, three second places and one third place, finishing on the podium every day. It has been an almost perfect year.
“The whole team is living a dream. We arrived here knowing that we had the chance to win the titles, but I tried not to think about it too much and remained focused. It is impossible to block it out completely because that pressure is always there.
“On Saturday, we finished second in EnduroGP and won Enduro1. Zach was very strong, and I did not feel completely comfortable with some small changes we had made to the bike. Even so, I knew I could improve on Sunday, fight for the victory and win the championship by taking the overall win. I could not have asked for a better outcome.
“I am really enjoying myself on the bike, and that is the most important thing. When you are having fun and giving everything, the results come. Now we have to keep working to maintain this level, although we know it will not be easy.”
