Steve Holcombe secures Enduro3 series lead

With just one round of the 2026 EnduroGP World Championship remaining, Steve Holcombe has timed his run to perfection. The Sherco Racing Factory rider delivered another standout weekend at Saint-Agrève, bagging a fourth EnduroGP podium of the season - but more importantly, a double Enduro3 win that fires him into the class championship lead heading into the finale.
Holcombe hit the ground running in France, going third fastest in Friday night’s Super Test before carrying that speed straight into Saturday. Right in the mix from the off, the Brit kept himself firmly at the sharp end to secure fourth overall in EnduroGP, while a composed ride in E3 saw him take the class win and keep his title charge firmly on track.
Sunday was more of the same - solid, controlled and right where it mattered. On board the Sherco 300 SE, Holcombe stayed glued to the front group throughout, this time converting it into third overall in EnduroGP to notch up another podium. Backing that up with a second E3 victory capped a near-perfect weekend - and a serious statement in his debut season with the team.
The bigger picture? It’s game on.
Holcombe remains fourth in the overall EnduroGP standings, but it’s the Enduro3 title fight where the damage has really been done. Two wins in France see him take over the championship lead at exactly the right moment, putting him firmly in control heading into the final round.
And that final stop couldn’t be more fitting. Rhayader hosts the GP of Wales on August 7-9 – a home race, a title on the line, and momentum very much on Holcombe’s side.
“It’s been a really positive weekend,” enthused Steve. “I’m delighted to leave France leading the Enduro3 championship, which was our main goal. Saturday was a little eventful after one of the biggest crashes I’ve had in a long time, but thankfully I could carry on, win the class and finish fourth overall.
“On Sunday I focused on staying consistent and avoiding any mistakes after the crash. To finish on the EnduroGP podium again and take another Enduro3 win is a great result. It’s always special to do well at Sherco’s home GP, so a big thank you to the whole team for all their hard work. Now the focus is on the final round in Wales.”
