Alex Hodgkinson provides you with all the info you will need for the upcoming 2007 GP MX season...

CAN you really wait until the end of August to see GP action on home turf?

Of course not, and Europe is only an hour and a quarter away once youget to Dover, so what's stopping the family or you and a few mates hopping across the Channel for the weekend to see the hottest MX actionon the planet first hand, and then tell the stop-at-homes all about itwhen you see them a week later?

You might even want to combine your favourite sport with a bit ofsight-seeing, a few Stellas, vino rossos or tequilas, and there areseveral opportunities each year to combine races on consecutive weekends.

In the age of cheap air travel and ever-increasing fuel prices (though average costs for diesel on thecontinent are about two-thirds of UK prices!), there are those whoprefer to fly, but with all the hassle of check-in, waiting and delays, and, to be brutally frank, it can often work out more expensive onceyou've paid weekend parking fees at a UK airport, rent-a-racer, hotel, expensive, grotty grub and and and.

For a group of mates, the van stocked with pies and beans, a quick stop to stock up with refreshments at a Calais hypermarche, a couple of mattresses and sleeping bags, it can still be cheaper to drive to a GP...

And more fun too, dodging all them daft foreigners driving on the wrong side of the road!...
