With numerous motocross events falling foul of the awful pre-Easter wet weather, competitors entered for the Mid Wilts MCC event at Bushton on Easter Sunday probably expected that their meeting would become another victim.However, despite more heavy rain falling less than 24 hours before proceedings were due to commence, the organising club made a big, brave decision to still go ahead with their scheduled event.
Yes, practice did not get under way until past midday, but this was purely due to safety concerns from the first aid personnel on site who were unsure that their four-wheel drive vehicle would be able to transfer injured riders from various points out on the course and back to the entrance of the venue.
