Having looked around a new venue in early 2011, Rideoffroaduk decided it would be ideally suited for the big Bank Holiday event which will take place this Sunday, August 28.

This venue can only be used once each year when the crop is cut. The venue, located less than half a mile outside Gisburn, Lancashire, offers a fresh new valley full of stubble-fields with a host of other features thrown in for good measure. This course will be a fast-flowing track, which will include round eight of the Doodson Motorsport Championship.

The paddock and camping area is located only meters from a good access road, the paddock is totally flat, and the organisers see no problems getting vans campers and caravans onto and off the site.

The weekend activities get underway on Saturday (August 27) afternoon with a structured training day starting at 1pm. Sunday morning will have the usual youth event running, before the adult Sportsman, Beginner, Veteran and Ladies take their turn at 10am for a two-hour thrash.

Then it will be the turn of the Expert, Clubman and Over 40 riders to do battle on what should be a will run-in track. The organisers expect all corners to berm up nicely with the soil base. These will compliment the odd stream crossing and short sprints through the tree-lined hedges which surround the site.

Please make sure your exhaust is re-packed if it has not been done this year. ALL four-strokes must have an Enduro spec exhaust, or must be fitted with a DB killer.

The Ribble Valley is a sensitive area, rideoffroaduk aims to work with the local authorities to further responsible
motorsports events in the area. For on-line entries visit the website – www.rideoffroaduk.co.uk
