The world famous Scott trial might well be seven weeks away but here's an urgent reminder that entries close next Friday, September 9 and there are only 30-places left from the 200 entries available!

The Scott, as all trials riders know, is a unique time and observation trial set in the Yorkshire Dales that is the ultimate one day trial in the world. Based on the market town of Reeth, and starting from a field close to the hamlet of Marske, the event takes in around 80-miles of pure moorland going taking in around 80 sections – and all against the clock!

Fastest man round sets 'Standard Time' and all other finishers are docked one mark for every minute extra they take to complete the course. Last year's winner was James Dabill and 'Dibs' actually gave Gas Gas its first ever win in this epic event.

James lost 39 marks on observation plus just three on time for a total of 42. Multi-Scott winner, Graham Jarvis, was second on Sherco with 16 time plus 43 for a total of 59, while third place finisher Michael Brown set standard time but threw away 65-marks in the sections.

There were a total of 73 official finishers in 2010 with the last, and probably most relieved and proudest, being Andrew Beane who dropped 139 against the clock plus 283 on observation for a grand total of 422.

The day of the Scott this year is Saturday, October 22 but if you are thinking of getting a ride then thinking time has stopped and you need to act NOW. Regs can be downloaded right now from the Richmond MCC website.

The cost is a very reasonable £30 and you need to get those regs off as soon as possible to Mrs Chris Wallis, Park Top Farm, Marske, Richmond DL11 7LS.

Then all you need to do is hammer your body into top fitness for the biggest test of your trialling life!
