World and European Champion Alexz Wigg ( JST 125 07 Gas Gas pro Racing 125) completed his ACU schoolboy career with another victory at the final round of the A Class championship on the Isle of Wight.

Riding well on the excellent course set out on the steep hillside overlooking the Atlantic he produced another oceanic performance but was pushed all the way by Gas Gas team mate Danby. Ross was only a mark behind after the second lap and it took a special lap of only two for Alexz to clinch this last round victory and with it the championship, his fourth British Championship. The top 3 were as it has been most of the season, Alexz on 15, Ross close behind on 21 and Jack Challoner on 47. Alexz lapped on 6,7 and 2 Ross on 9, 5 and 7. A great event set out by the enthusiastic IOWMCC and just spot on for difficulty.

A somewhat emotional Alexz was seriously worried about not winning on the day as he waited for Ross to return his last lap card of 7, " it would be bad to win the championship and not the last round” he said. " I think I have only just realised that this is my last ACU event in the schoolboys, we have been so busy competing this year it has come round so quick. We have made some great friends and ridden in some terrific events I will miss it next year”.

In reality the championship was pretty much sown up beforehand as Alexz had won every round bar one (Richmond) and Ross was missing rounds due to WTC commitments. A ninth place finish would have secured the title but that is just not Alexz!

Next week is the last ever youth event the YMSA in Derbyshire, and another championship up for grabs, the pressure is on for this one though as nothing less than a win will do, says the team! No pressure there then!

Final Championship Positions:-
1st Alexz Wigg 135
2nd Jack Challoner 116
3rd Ross Danby 103
