Carmichael's a bit on the 'wicked side

IT'S nintey-nine down, one to go for Ricky Carmichael as the unmatchable Makita Suzuki rider again swept to a double moto victory at round three of the AMA Motocross Championship at sandy Southwick on Sunday to notch-up his 99th career motocross win and set-up a historic and seemingly inevitable 100th victory at Budds Creek this coming Sunday.

Overcoming a bit of sickness and weekend longtroubles with an overheating machine, Carmichael again proved he isfitter, faster, and more determined than anyone still, and twice beatKawasaki's James Stewart and impressive Yamaha team leader GrantLangston to take the win, while privateer hero Gavin Gracyk put amyriad of big names to shame as he stormed to a sensational sixthoverall.

The battle of wits between Pro-Circuit Kawasakiteammates Ryan Villopoto and Ben Townley continued in the Lites classat Southwick also with the pair splitting wins and second placefinishes as they dominated proceedings, Townley again getting the nodfor the overall though with another impressive, strong second race winas Suzuki's Ryan Dungey got back on the podium in third overall infront of Jason Lawrence and High Point victor Josh Grant.
