The Angels look down on Coppins and Cairoli

YAMAHA twins Josh Coppins and Toni Cairoli got back to their winning ways at St Jean D'Angely in western France on Sunday, the Kiwi extending his MX1 points lead, as the series approaches halfway, to 90 points, despite being run down by new chief chaser Steve Ramon in race two, while the Sicilian delivered a hammer blow to defending champion Chris Pourcel with a resounding double defeat of the French teenager on home turf.
Billy MacKenzie put a devastating week for Kawasaki behind him tonarrowly miss the podium in MX1 and Mike Brown was again top ten, butKen De Dycker was a shadow of his usual self and neither James Noblenor Gordon Crockard were enjoying the expressway. But Brad Anderson washeading for another double figure score until he holed the radiator andNev Bradshaw showed guts to open his GP scorecard for 2008.
In MX2, Tommy Searle was sixth, a disappointment after he had rundown Pourcel on Saturday, and Gareth Swanepoel, Tom Church and CarlNunn rounded out the top nine. Jason Dougan was gutted when he gotdumped on the ground at the start of race two after a sensationalcharge through to seventh in the opener, while Fork Rent Suzuki partnerJake Nicholls was also impressive for two further scores and SeanHamblin twice rode one-handed into the points.
