James Dabill, No.1 JST GGUK Rider has just won Round 6 of the British Trials Championship. The 'new' event organised by the Torridge &District MCC was a success after the club set out real challenging (but notdaft) course.

The practice lap on Saturday afternoon was ruinedby the torrential rain which worried the organisers and riders. Neverthelessthey changed a few sections for yesterday and the weather brightened up so allwas well.

The first 5 sections were in the wood which werevery muddy and the rest were on dryer rocky outcrops which really were excellentsections.

Section 2 was very hard at the end with a verysteep, muddy double step which only Dibs and Craig Robinson got out of on thefirst lap.

Dibs had a superb one dab ride and Craig had acommited 'three'. Both Dibs' main rivals Browny and Wiggy fived.

This gave Dibs an early lead which he 'buzzedoff' and finished the first lap on 24+3 on time. This was 9 better than Wiggy in2nd.

Browny was best on lap 2 and closed the gapslightly on Dibs but because conditions were tough James rode the last lapconfidently and recorded the best final lap to confirm the win.

James was naturally happy to win but will admitto making too many mistakes yesterday which frustrated him. He is veryself-critical with his riding (which is not a bad thing) and sometimes thisfrustrates him. He was pleased that the event was harder than the previous twoand congratulated the club on the podium as did Micheal and Alexz.

The 'main class' sections should be challengingfor the riders as this is the stepping stone for the WTC..

Dibs now has a 9 point lead with two rounds to goso things are still close. We expect 'Legend Lampkin' to ride at the next roundso this should spice things up. James has a massive amount of respect for Dougbut we hope Doug rides because James always raises his game when herides.

Sam Haslam (JSTGG) had his best BTCresult of the year finishing 4th. Sam always rides well in the mud and looksgood on his new RAGA bike. Sam is now joint 4th in the Championship with JackChalloni so expect a focused Haslam at Round 7.

Ross Danby (JSTGG) was 6th and also looked good.Ross really impressed me on the hard final part of the second section where his'full-on' aggressive style worked. Ross was beaten by George Morton and is nowbattling with George to stay ahead of him in the championshipstandings...

The Expert Class was won by Sam Connor withJonny Walker 2nd on his WREN GAS GAS PRO125.

This is Jonnys best BTC result of his career andcomes off the back of his first National win at last weekends Dave RowlandTrial. WELL DONE!

Jonny is now 6th in the Expert Championship, second best GG rider.

Lee Sampson (TRC GAS GAS) had a bad day finishing7th, but is still 5th overall in the Championshp and best GG rider.

Dan Thorpe (JSTGG) rode the Alan Jefferiesinstead of the long trip to Devon where he was focused for the win after notwinning the Dave Rowland. Dan was dissappointed to finish 4th after three bad'fives' spoilt his day.

Thanks to Jack and Factory Kev...
