The Brits began their charges on the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship with mixed results this weekend at the Rockstar Energy Hangtown Classic in Sacramento. Both British riders, ex-pat Scot Dean Wilson and England's Tommy Searle put in secure performances to finish sixth and ninth respectively in the 250 Class.

In the opening 250 moto, KTM pilot, Tommy Searle was briefly able to put all the disappointments of his AMA Supercross season behind him to claim second behind AMA Eastern Lites champ, Christophe Pourcel. However, in Moto two Searle suffered a heavy crash, landing on his previously injured shoulder. Despite re-mounting, Searle was unable to continue and was forced to retire and took 31st and ninth overall. Meanwhile Kawasaki's Dean Wilson continued the form he produced in the AMA Supercross Lites to secure tenth in his debut AMA Motocross race. He then followed this up fin a fourth in moto two for sixth overall.

After a night of thrills and spills Honda rookie Eli Tomac proved to be the man on form as he claimed the overall, just pushing Christophe Pourcel into second due to a better race two result.
