Elliott Banks-Browne to miss Maxxis opener
By Team TMX on 11th Feb 15
Maxxis MX1 contender Elliott Banks-Browne will be forced to sit out the start of the outdoor season after breaking his leg at the sixth round of the AX series in Glasgow on Saturday night.
The 25-year-old broke his tibia and fibula after clashing with Thomas Ramette in their head-to-head race.
EBB didn't crash but had to be lifted from his bike.
"I had an operation on Sunday night and they've inserted a rod down the tibia and left the fibula as it should heal okay on its own,” he said on Tuesday.
"I've not been given a timescale as such for recovery – I'll hopefully know more after I see Harris and Ross next week.
"I'm 100 per cent not going to be back for the first round of the Maxxis. It's a bad break and it was a big operation so I'd say at the very best we're looking at eight to 10 weeks.
