Max Anstie Exclusive: Coming home for the MXoN
By Team TMX on 2nd Sep 24
Max Anstie is coming home for the Motocross of Nations at Matterley Basin after team manager Mark Chamberlain pulled out all the stops to make it happen.
The Star Racing Yamaha rider was hot favourite for the MX2 seat on the team and Chamberlain is bringing the Brit back home for the one-off end-of-season spectacular.
Anstie has posted podium finishes on the blue bike in outdoor nationals since he made an early switch from Firepower Honda to prepare for a full assault on both SX and MX championships Stateside in 2025.
Fresh off the outdoor nationals, reigning world supercross champion Anstie is still getting used to his new team and being around a stellar line-up at Yamaha which also includes the likes of Haiden Deegan, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb and Justin Cooper.
Anstie added on his return home to Britain in October: “To race Matterely on a Star 250 is going to be great. For me 2017 I can’t top that, I can’t top going 1-1.
“That was an incredible day and unless I win some championships in the US, I don’t know what’s going to top that.
“In the US the fans are not for me, they’re not British fans. British fans in Matterley are incredible. At the point in my career where I’m at you’ve got to take the opportunities to race at home when you can.
“The Americans don’t really get it, having a home GP or a home race. GPs are raced all around the world and you only get one home race and at that race the fans are there for you. Having a home Nations is incredible whereas in the US you might get a home state race but pretty much everyone is from the US. I would be ready for that.”
