Motocross

GREAT Scott, he's done it again! After a spectacular double the week before at the Classic Motocross des Nations in Holland, Scott Hayworth was again in scintillating form at the final round of the British Classic Scrambles Championship.

Held last weekend at the excellent Mortimer club's 75th anniversary meeting at its Bennetts Hill circuit near Reading, Scott scorched away with the honours by winning both championship races. While his main rival,

Andy Roberton, saw his prospects of a third championship title on the trot begin to disappear in a first leg DNF.

Apart from the first lap of the first race, Scott was never headed and he won convincingly. The first easing up after Andy Roberton came off and wrecked his back brake which later locked on and pitched him off again. With no Roberton to race him, Scott won with room to spare from a very determined Dave Bell who was racing to his best result of the series, with Tim Dallaway making it a Metisse second and third.
