Hermunen's GP, but Chareyre's lifts world title
By TMX Archives on 3rd Dec 10
Mauno Hermunen claimed his second Supermoto Grand Prix victory of the season at Portaventura, near Salou, Spain, on Sunday, with team-mate Adrien Chareyre on the second step of the podium.
France's Thomas Chareyre finished in third overall but that was sufficient to earn him the World S1 Championship crown.
Italy's Davide Gozzini was fourth on the day and was a close second of the Championship – just two-points shy of the Frenchman's final tally.
Italian Fabrizio Bartolini scored his maiden victory of the season in the UEM Open Championship and with this result finished second in the series. Second overall in the event was his compatriot Massimiliano Porfiri and third was Uros Nastran, the new champion.
In the poorly supported European S3 class, Mitchell-Thomas Malachi dominated the three races and as a result climbed to second in the final series standings.
