The mid-way race of the 2015 Enduro World Championship proved to be a good one for all British riders as Steve Holcombe, Jamie and Danny McCanney and Jack Edmondson all claimed podium results at the GP of Greece

Returning to the well-known tracks of Serres it was the event's long, fast and technical enduro test that focused everyone's attentions as the numerous water crossings played a part in deciding the results in many classes. .

Steve Holcombe, Jamie McCanney and Jack Edmondson were all among those effected.

Thankfully, all three not only got to the end of each day but went on to enjoy some well-earned podium results.

Steve Holcombe, fresh from his first ever EWC win in Portugal, set about showing that his podium topping result was certainly no fluke and despite wrenching his shoulder early on day one once again topped the Junior class.

"Saturday was great, better than I hoped it could have gone,” explained Steve. "I badly wrenched my shoulder on the first enduro test, but I even shocked myself with some of the times I set during the day..

"I felt really good on the first enduro test on day two, but filled my bike with water. I lost something like 45 seconds, which wasn't a great start to the day. I pushed hard and kept taking time back whenever I could. I closed the gap to eight seconds, which I was pleased with. A one-two result is really good.”

For Jamie McCanney the Greek event was a good one, despite taking water into his Husqvarna on day one, he was second to Holcombe.

With Holcombe the one taking water into his bike on day two Jamie turned the results around and secured the win.

"The first day went well. I think I was fastest outright at the end of the opening lap, which was great,” commented Jamie. "On the second enduro test my bike took in water and it stopped. I was sure my day was over. Luckily it wasn't but I lost a lot of time. .

"Day two was a real struggle. I just couldn't free up and get into it like I wanted – I couldn't get into a flow like I did on day one. It's really hard with such a long, technical enduro test.

More points towards the championship is always a good thing, so all in all a really good weekend.”
