PARK LIFE

Hitting mid point in the series, round four of the Route 77 GT Cup rolled into Hilton Park last weekend.
Getting the show on the road wild card runners dominated in the opening British Championship Clubman race as Scott Elderfield, Ashley Greedy and Jim Davies filled the respective 1-2-3.
All weekend Elderfield in particular was in supreme form as all four heats finished with the same result.
Greedy had his nose in front at times and with a monumental effort he ran Elderfield close in heat three.
In the points scoring Leighton Holmes was first man across the line three times with Ben Harrison taking the honour in heat one. Holmes finished in fourth overall, as Harrison dropped down the order with a last race DNS.
In the Adult 125cc races a three-way scrap for the podium top centre stage as Chubbie Hammond, hard working Jim Davies and Michael Ellis put on a real show.
Bar-to-bar with Hammond, and with the lead changing hands more than once, Ellis was the eventual winner of a terrific opener.
Taking second spot Hammond had to work overtime fending off TM teammate Davies, and it was then Davies who won heat two with Hammond in tow.
Putting the hammer down to best effect in Sunday action race three and four saw Hammond across the line first with a career best overall victory.
Two Sunday second place finishes put Davies on second step as Ellis took third overall.
Just as gripping as the 125s, the Youth MXY2 kept everyone right on their toes with Luke Smith, Jake Edey and Henry Siddiqui up front and bashing plastics.
With a gritty determined opening ride birthday boy Edey won heat one as slick Irish raider Smith plundered the next two wins. Heat three was arguably the best race of the weekend as behind winner Smith, Edey got the better of Siddiqui with a swashbuckling last lap manoeuvre.
That helped Edey into second overall, as Smith topped the podium going 4-1-1-2.
Following some day one mechanical issues Siddiqui had his spare machine out on day two, but still looked super pumped scooping the race four win but having to settle for third overall.
In the Big-wheel 85s with series leader Sam Price out injured wild card runner Howard Wainwright ran the championship contenders ragged.
Going four from four in some style Wainwright was in red-hot form as the battle raged behind.
Callum Gasson recovered from a problematic first heat to snatch section silver as Ryan Allison claimed weekend bronze.
