JUST this week, Honda has released details and images of its 2009 motocross offerings, headed by the CRF450R and CRF250R. The meteoric rise of the Honda CRF450R has taken it to the highest realms of Supercross, motocross, desert, endurance, and Supermoto racing where it pushes the competition time and time again.

Constantly stepping up its game, the 2009 model is ready to dominate the battlefield once again – now with a fuel injection system, and claimed more speed, more control, more reliability, more power and more performance. The only thing there's less of is weight, making it the lightest and most manoeuvrable machine in its class!
As well as that all-important weight reduction (a full 1.8 kg!), the engine has been re-engineered for easier riding, quicker response,
better cornering and smoother power delivery. Every single component has been revised in an effort to achieve Honda's goal of mass centralisation. We're told that the geometry has been changed to achieve better traction out of the corners, matched by faster acceleration.
The new 2009 model CRF450R is slimmer, lighter and smoother, with a lower centre of gravity, making control in the air easier. Apparently they've even looked at the aerodynamics for its movement through the air! Improved mass centralisation and lighter weight minimise inertia feel for a sensation of accomplished control and expert handling. Torque feeling is improved everywhere and overall performance is claimed to be fast, slick and exhilarating.
Weekend warriors and factory pros alike – get ready to test your limits and bring even the toughest competition to its knees.
A pure, race-bred heir to the many riches of the all-conquering CRF450R, the CRF250R is a commanding presence on Supercross and motocross race tracks all around the world. Benefitting directly from its big brother's technologies

and componentry, it is renowned for its fast-revving and powerful four-stroke engine and unique dual silencer exhaust system. This year it's raring to race again with even lighter weight (around 100g), smoother power, new razor-sharp styling and easier handling.
The impressive acceleration delivered by the CRF250R's high-revving, liquid-cooled, four-valve Unicam powerhouse is now smoother, with enhanced low to mid-range torque feel and effortless gear changes.
The lightweight and rugged frame and chassis have been trimmed and optimised wherever possible for adept handling on tricky berms and high-flying jumps. Suspension settings have been refined and matched by new steering damper settings for superb control and traction on even the most punishing and least predictable surfaces.
