MONEYGLASS, close to Toomebridge, County Antrim, in Northern Ireland could well host the 2007 Motocross Grand Prix of Northern Ireland, on August 19.

Promoters Northern Ireland Events has just recently discovered the 365 acre green-field site 25 miles north of Belfast and according to Simon Cordner, spokesman for the Northern Ireland Events Company it is the preferred location for the Irish GP in August after the promotions company took the high profile event to Ballykelly and Desertmartin in the last three years.

Simon explained about the choice of Moneyglass over three other venues: ''Three locations came under the spotlight with Moneyglass in Co Antrim the preferred option,'' explained Cordner.

''This is really a dry-run for the Motocross des Nations next year when upwards of 45,000 spectators are expected to attend the pinnacle of the sport and It's essential that everything is in position for this year's world round on August 19.''
