After three days of competition at the International Six Days Trial in Germany, Britain's Trophy and Junior Trophy teams are currently looking good and although the Junior team have slipped from the lead they only narrowly trail the strongly fancied French squad and are still right in the chase. The official ACU press release is printed in full below:

The ACU GB ISDE Junior team lost the lead in the Junior competition today to the strong French team, but held the lead margin to a very slender 1.28-minutes to keep the hopes of victory alive.

The ACU GB ISDE Trophy Team had another strong day to maintain eighth but with every capability to step up the leaderboard over the next few days. Danny McCanney was again the best Brit and is now 21st in the overall standings.

Competing against a team with two world champions in their number will always be a tough ask, but the Team GB Junior team continues to bring the fight to the French in the Junior competition.

Danny McCanney might be the star British rider but the support from Alex Rockwell,Jack Rowland and Steve Holcombe is impressive, the riders individually setting top-20 times overall and the most junior member, Steve, today coming right up in the time sheets. The team were untroubled todayand are all fighting fit and ready for the concluding half of the event. With Team France already down one man any mistake or loss on their part will be critical to their chance of success.

The Trophy team was solid again today. Jordan Rose continues to get faster, having been frustrated by day one technical troubles he's now set on climbing the leaderboard; 61st after day one Jordan is now up to 33rd overall.

Strategically the team are in a strong position, of the seven teams ahead of them four have now lost a rider each – one more rider loss from any of them would see Team GB leapfrog up the table. Again, our riders are all in good shape and prepared to ride a strong second half of the event.

ACU GB ISDE Team Manager, Dusty Martin: "Today was a very long one, the organisers were worried about getting all the riders home before dusk, and this despite starting the first rider off at 07.45.

The day was promised to be tougher technically but all our riders coped well, the worst reported was a check being ‘a bit tight'. Jason Thomas had a crash today but he's fine and the bike required only minor repairs. Our main concern has been to keep the riders' energies high, we're only half way home and the real racing is to come. Brilliant work again today from the Juniors, but frankly the whole team impresses.”
