Jones is a real Wild one

Fifteen hours of relentless overnight rain, standing water up to a foot deep had to be negotiated along the entrance track to the Wilden Lane circuit.
Remarkably, however, this was as tricky as it got all day, with the paddock and race circuit staying in unbelievably good condition.
The event was round six of the Muk Junkie Winter series and in the combined Expert and Expert Intermediate races Jake Preston and Joe Jones claimed centre stage right from the off.
Although on vastly differing machinery, out on the course they were equally matched – Jones on the two-stroke KTM with Preston on the big four-bang Suzuki.
A terrific first-heat win eventually went the way of Jones, who came from behind to nail it with a killer overtaking move at half-distance.
Preston seemed to have some bike issues late in the race and he took no further part.
Jones went on to convincingly win heats two and three as Louis Bellfield stepped up into second overall going 3-2-2. Jason Kendrick with a really solid shift holding his own in third overall.
In a really well-stocked Adult Inters field the Gardiner brothers Fraser and Matt proved best as they shared out the heat wins 2-1 in Matts favour.
The overall win however went to Fraser 1-2-2. Matt claimed second with 4-1-1.
Jack Vincent and Ryan
Hampton had a decent tear-up for section bronze, ultimately won by Vincent, who scored a second in heat one. The Two-Stroke and Rookie divisions combined effectively to produce close entertaining racing all through the twenty plus strong field.
In the Two-strokes Stacey Fisher waved a speedy flag for girl power laying down a 2-1 heats win over Rowan Hill.
Nicholas Jones with a brace of thirds rounded off the podium. Another two-stroke rider in hot form – but this time in the Rookies as a new upgrade – Robert Yates impressed with a 3-2-1 card. Yates ending up in second overall as Jack May just edged it, going 2-1-2.
