KRT thank Romain Febvre for the memories!
By Team TMX on 29th Oct 26
After seven seasons together, Romain Febvre and Kawasaki are parting ways, bringing an end to a successful partnership that delivered the ultimate prize – the 2025 MXGP World Championship.
During his time aboard the KX450-SR, the Frenchman also secured three world silver medals, in 2021, 2023 and 2026, cementing his place as one of Kawasaki’s most successful riders of the modern era.
The numbers make impressive reading:
Febvre finished in the world’s top five in every season with Kawasaki apart from 2022, when a fractured leg limited him to just eight of the 18 GPs.
He contested 114 of the 132 GPs held between 2020 and 2026, finishing 223 of the 226 races he started – a 99 per cent finish rate.
His 65 podium finishes put him clear at the top of Kawasaki’s modern-era rankings, ahead of Sébastien Tortelli on 39 and Christophe Pourcel on 27.
With 29 overall GP victories, Febvre is second only to Tortelli, who claimed 42 GP wins for the Green team across the 125cc and 250cc classes.
“Personally, I’ve worked with Romain since he joined Kawasaki, within both of our factory KRT MXGP team infrastructures,” said Steve Guttridge, KME Race Planning Manager. “That meant working alongside different management and technical staffs, but one thing he consistently made clear was that he loved his KX450.
“Looking back at the stats, that was clearly the case. In motocross, that level of consistency over such a long period, competing at the highest level in MXGP, is very hard to achieve!
“For me, I’ll remember Romain at KRT as an out-and-out racer – no nonsense, with a never-give-up attitude that can neither be taught nor contained!
“I’d like to express my sincere thanks to him and his crews for always giving 100 per cent, both on and off the track. It resulted in so many podiums and great racing memories for all the Team Green fans.”
