JAMES Fry, the current Southern Centre Trials Champion, won the Expert class from fellow UK rider Ricky Wiggins at this year's Jersey MC and LCC Two-Day Open Trial, held over the weekend in very mixed weather conditions over a wide range of courses in the north and west of the island.

The weather did not deter the many hundreds of spectators who turned out in force to watch a feast of trials riding as 107 riders from the UK, Jersey and Guernsey tackled a wide range of stages. Overall, the UK riders dominated the weekend with only one Jersey finisher in the top five in any class.

Commenting on his win, James Fry said: "It was tough as the sections set were constantly challenging, about the same standard as I would expect to see at a British Championship. Ricky has pushed me very hard on both days and today was particularly tough for me as rocks are not my favourite surface. Nevertheless a great two days and I am delighted to have won this event for a third time!”
