The Scott Amateur Nationals series heads east this weekend (July 18/19) for round six of the championship at Mildenhall. With three rounds to go the MX1 class is getting tight with James Lassu leading by 37 points from Rob Clitheroe.

The Lancashire rider had thought his season was over at round four when he injured ligaments but he came back for round five at Warmingham Lane and took the overall to close the gap to the top.

Chris Shallcross sits third in the table but realistically the title is now down to a two-man fight although Alex Rach is back in action and will be a threat for the overall win.

Despite finishing a disappointing sixth overall last time out Lewis Meadows still leads MX2 by 15 points from Bradley Wheeler with Jack Drogan also in with an outside shout of the championship – although he badly needs to pull back some points on the sandy Suffolk circuit.

With two hotly-contested two-stroke classes the Scott Amateur Nationals is always perfumed by the sweet smell of pre-mix and it's Ty Kellett who leads the 250cc division from Luke Gidney.

Kellett increased his advantage to 43 points at Warmingham Lane and will be aiming to extend it further this weekend.
Jimmy Margetson is a clear leader in the 125cc class from Tim Gardham but occasional series competitor Alex Butler has got the speed to win – if he turns up.

Thomas Card has a comfortable lead over Mitchell Gregory in the massively-supported Junior Open class and Tanisha Thomas is sitting pretty in the Ladies after Stacey Fisher missed round four to race the WMX class at the French GP.
Vet leader Brian Wheeler won't be in action at Mildenhall giving the chasing pack led by Paul Coward a rare chance to pull some points back on him.

Signing on is from Friday night and there are still some places left. For more details call 01229 463805.
The track is located just to the west of RAF Mildenhall. Postcode is IP28 8QL.
