Motul MXGB heads to Landrake

The Motul MXGB ACU British Motocross Championship reaches its halfway stage this weekend (May 17) as the series heads to Landrake in Cornwall for Round Four, with the title picture beginning to take shape.
Set in the heart of the South West, Landrake provides a natural, hard-pack circuit that traditionally rewards rhythm, line choice and race craft – offering a different test to the sand and softer terrain seen earlier in the season. With conditions expected to play a key role, consistency and race craft will be just as important as outright speed.
As the championship approaches its midpoint, the stakes are rising. A strong result here could prove pivotal heading into the second half of the campaign, while any mistakes may prove costly in what is shaping up to be a tightly contested season.
One of the major talking points heading into the weekend is the anticipated debut of sand specialist Todd Kellett, who lines up in the MX1 class on the Honda machinery. A proven winner across multiple disciplines Kellett’s all-round ability makes him a genuine wildcard at Landrake, despite his reputation being built on sand.
Attention will also focus on the established MXGB front runners, who will be looking to stamp their authority on the championship before it enters its decisive phase. With points at a premium and little margin for error, expect intense racing across both motos.
In MX2, the battle is equally compelling, with emerging talent continuing to push the established names. Landrake’s technical nature should provide opportunities for riders to make the difference through precision and control, particularly in deteriorating track conditions.
The venue itself is known for producing close racing, with multiple line options. Starts will still be critical, but as always at Landrake, races are rarely won in the opening laps.
With the championship finely poised and fresh storylines emerging, Round Four could be a turning point in the 2026 MXGB season.
