FRESH from her stellar second place finish at the final round of the FIM Ladies World Motocross Cup at Lierop, Holland, earlier in the month, and her demolition of allcomers at the previous weekend's UK Girls National, Fork-Rent Suzuki's young Irish star, Natalie Kane, again dominated proceedings at Sunday's inaugural Maxxis ACU British Ladies Motocross Championship at Pontrilas.

Clearly the class of the 20-strong field wholined-up at the Herefordshire venue, Kane majestically swept all threemotos by some margin to take the title from Scotland's Kerry Wilson andWales' Louise Williams and etch her name in the history books as thefirst official British Ladies champ.

IT was a shame that the cream of the UK's femalemotocross talent were relegated to a Sunday race in front of virtuallyno crowd and not run as a support to the full British Championship thepreceding day (could the sparse non-qualifiers race have made way?) butnevertheless the girls put on a great show of skill and determinationthat will hopefully secure them a more prestigious slot next season.

No-one showed more skill on the day than Kane and, despite still being on the recovery trail from a serious shoulderinjury, her win was never in doubt. After grabbing the holeshot in theopening moto, Kane never looked back and, setting a blistering pace, she easily opened up a lead of over five seconds by the end of theopening lap and the lead just continued to grow.
