Nev n’ Brad at full speed

Doing their bit for the elder statesmen of British MX, Brad Anderson and Nev Bradshaw may have the combined age of a meal for two but both still got on the podium at Blaxhall on Sunday.
At 36 years old Verde KTM's Ando shows no signs of slowing down while Nev, three years his junior, has tried - and failed - to retire and is almost as active now as he was a few years back when he still raced full-time.
"I feel as though I was back to my old self, finishing second in the first one and having a good run at Graeme [Irwin]," said Brad, a two-time Maxxis champion, after finishing second. "We had a good battle but then I tensed up a little bit.
"The second race I knew what I had to do for the overall. Graeme got the holeshot but I felt as though I had better lines and I ended up making the pass and he passed me back and then I got him again.
"Then I totally lost my back brake and all I could do was try and bring it home safe for second overall which I'm pretty pleased with."
Nev raced both the MX2 class as a fill-in for Lombard Express Suzuki and the two-stroke class for DB Racing Honda on his '02 CR250.
A fighting 10th in the opening MX2 moto, he was running 10th in race two when he got a rear wheel puncture.
He backed this up with a 2-3 card on the smoker for second overall and now sits just seven points behind GL12 KTM's Mike Kras in the championship.
"It's been a gnarly day," said the South African. "Coming from dead last in the second two-stroke race was hard. I've been struggling with cramps today but I'm happy - my objective was top 10 in MX2 and I got a 10th in the first race and was lying in the top 10 in the second when I got a puncture.
"The first two-stroke moto I was leading for a long time and then James [Dunn] got me.
"I stayed with him for two laps but then realised I wasn't going to get him back so I backed it down for the next moto.
