This old school beauty is Trevor Lovesys 1980 Maico 440. Trevor says he purchased the bike at the Twin-shock show in 2014 and over the last three and a bit years he has restored it, doing bits and pieces when it took his fancy.
Now it's finished Trevor does not intend to ride his creation so it can go to a good home.
Trevor rides trials a few times a year and the odd Enduro but mainly raced in the late seventies and early eighties riding both twin and single shock bikes.
Trevor has completely stripped and re built the bike.
Here is a list of bits and work that he has done:
New complete bearings, nuts and bolts, plastics, race base stainless wide footrests, SM pro rims and spokes, kick start, gear, cables, ignition cover, air filter primary gear and chain, gear selectors, Magura levers, decompressor, billet brake lever.
Trevor also had the fork stanchions re-chromed, rear shocks serviced and the frame and hubs powder coated. Most other parts have been zinc plated or anodised.
