THE Pinhard Trophy is presented annually, by the Sunbeam Motorcycle Club, to the person under 21 years of age, who has been nominated, and who is deemed to have made the most meritorious contribution to motorcycle sport over the past year, by a panel of Sunbeam club appointed judges.

Nominations are now due for the 2007 award and may be made by a club or by an individual.
Many top off-roaders have been presented with the splendid silverPinhard two-gallon jug, including Jeff Smith and Arthur Lampkin in the1950s, Malcolm Davies, Mick Andrews and Malcolm Rathmell in the 1960s,Martin Lampkin, Graham Noyce and Neil Hudson in the 1970s, Dave Thorpe,Steve Saunders, Kurt Nicoll, Paul Edmondson in the 1980s, Jamie Dobb,Steve Colley, Doug Lampkin and Graham Jarvis in the 1990s.

Trials ace Donna Fox was a rare lady winner of the trophy, whichcommemorates the late Fred Pinhard, in 2004 while last year's winnerwas one of Britain's top trials prospects Alexz Wigg.
Nominations are open to competitors in ALL disciplines of motorcyclesport, so motocross, trials and enduro are up against nominations fromroad racing, grass track, speedway, supermoto etc. In fact, nominees donot even have to take part in a sport, they may be a particularlyenthusiastic organiser, marshal or observer. In fact the 2003 winnerwas Jamie Clarke, a key committee member of the busy and successfulsouth east Sidcup club.
