Pole' position for Luke
By TMX Archives on 10th Dec 09

THE Wilden MXC trophy meeting, held at Stipers Hill Farm, near Polesworth on Sunday ran like clockwork on a day when everyone enjoyed six hours of unbroken sunshine at a venue in such prime condition, it really was hard to believe!
In the Adult Open section, James Lassu looked to be well on course for the opening race win until a machine failure in the closing laps let in Luke Meredith for the first of his three race wins on the day. With Lassu out of the meeting, Luke generally looked to be a real class apart in the section but he had to work overtime in the final encounter to secure the win.
The final race turned out to be the most competitive of the three, with Luke coming from the back like a man on a mission to eventually get the better of Mark Roberts in a thrilling close fought encounter.
Finishing the day with a 2-6-2 card, Mark himself also fully impressed, being rewarded with second place overall as fast starting Dan Ward claimed third on his 250cc Suzuki with yet another fine, fast gating performance.
