The Red Bull Teka KTM steamroller ground the opposition into the sand at Lommel. They blasted to a 1-2-3 in both races for Jeffrey Herlings, Ken Roczen and Jeremy Van Horebeek in MX2 and a 1-3 in MX1 for Toni Cairoli and Max Nagl as only Clement Desalle stopped the rot. Max Anstie was again best Brit, just missing the podium with a brace of fourths in MX2, while Shaun Simpson had a stunning second moto seventh. There were top ten scores for Tommy Searle, Jake Nicholls, Arnaud Tonus and Matiss Karro and points on his return to GPs for Tom Church.

The gallery, packed to the brim with British fans, witnessed Herlings in devastating form despite being on painkillers for a week-old vacation injury: "On Friday morning I didn't even know if I could race, but today I actually had less pain than yesterday," said Herlings.

A cautious start to race one was followed by a crash which let Roczen through to lead.
The pair of them were playing cat-and-mouse for a time but as the race entered the final laps it got serious again.
The German led going into the final lap, but the Dutch teenager was on his rear wheel when Lommel bit!

"I don't know happened. One moment I was leading, the next I was on the ground. I hurt my stomach and was sick at the finish, but I got some physio and the pain was soon gone, explained Roczen after getting up to finish second.
"We were both on the limit," added Herlings. "I was on his rear wheel when he crashed and was lucky not to hit him.

With the first win under his belt the 16-year-old wanted the double and surged to the front within a few turns in race two: "I wanted to try Ken's tactic of holeshot and build a big gap as soon as possible but I guess I tried too hard and crashed down to around eighth," he said.

Within a lap he was back in front and checked out. Roczen's points lead was thus cut to 21 but he was not perturbed: "I guess I can be happy with second. Jeff is the fastest MX2 rider in the world in sand!"

Van Horebeek, the only rider in the class not to crash, completed the orange podium, but Max Anstie was undoubtedly the third-fastest rider on view, if a little over-enthusiastic at times.

"I nearly holeshot the first race but I was so excited I jumped off the track into the green netting at turn two," he admitted.
"I charged back to fourth again and was right on Jeremy when I (unintentionally) tried a nac-nac and jumped off the track again, but within a lap I had passed Petar Petrov and Tommy and Gautier Paulin collided.

"I nearly caught back up to Jeremy, but I just ran out of time.
