WELL, the weather forecasters got it right for a change, rain was predicted and we got rain, but not the heavy duty stuff until last knockings during the ninth Hawkstone International Motocross at Hawkstone Park, on Sunday.

A couple of other predictions were right and quite a few were shot down in flames.

South African Tyla Rattray is on fire this early in the new MX2 class' season and on current form will be hard to beat on the Red Bull KTM. He snatched two uncompromising victories for the overall honours whilst young Belgian Kevin Strijbos also demonstrated that he too will be a force to be reckoned with come the GP season with his two classy victories on the Geboers Suzuki for the overall honours in MX1.

The Brits, on home soil, were shown to be MIA (missing in action) in the MX1 class with Ulsterman Gordon Crockard (PAR Homes Honda) giving the English speaking nations something to cheer about in seventh place overall - James Noble was next up in 10th place!

Strijbos had reigning British MX champ Ken de Dycker chasing him all day in runner-up position with former team mate in the CAS Honda squad last season Josh Coppins admitting himself to have been ''...Not in my comfort zone today'' in third place overall on the factory Rinaldi Yamaha.

However, hold your hands up Mr Tom Church for establishing some pride in the British motocross world in the MX2 class with two spirited fourth place rides to third place overall in MX2 behind winner Rattray and runner-up, Dutch sand man Erik Eggens.
