Yesterday was the final round of the 2006 British Trials Championship and with the Top Championship Class Title decided at the penultimate round in Scotland where Graham Jarvis clinched the Championship, the main interest yesterday was focused on the Expert Class.

Three riders could have won, Team JST GAS GAS riders Dan Thorpe and Sam Haslam together with Birkett Scorpa mounted Joe Baker were all possible winners and whatever order they finished on the day would be the final order for the Championship....

Sam 'cool' Haslam was simply awesome and rode as he has been doing all year with his cool, calm riding style and blitzed everyone to win by a massive 24 marks.

Dan and Joe had no answer for Sam and they were the first to congratulate him.

In his first adult year, Sam has quickly matured into a cool cookie and goes about his riding very similar to Graham Jarvis, very focused, nothing flash but deadly effective. He has had some very good National results and also an excellent ride in his first SSDT.

I am very pleased and proud to have Sam on my Team and look forward to guideing his progress.

He will move up into the Championship Class next year where he will look forward to mixing it with the big boys which was won yesterday (yet again) by Graham Jarvis with Steve Colley second.

Graham has been superb this year and he FULLY DESERVES this years title, so congrats again.

Steve Colley once again finished second with his usual dynamic riding style which didn't suit him yesterday on the ultra slippy Skyrakes sections. Nevertheless, he STILL beat the young guns with Dabil in 3rd and Shaun Morris in 4th.

Shaun had an awesome crash on section 10 on the first lap, where the bike landed on his shoulder and face and really did knock the crap out if him and it affected him for the rest of the day.

Steve and Shaun have finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Championship which i am happy with.

Alexz Wigg(Team GAS GAS UK) won the Youth Class by 19 marks from his Team mates Ross Danby and Bert Andrews who were 2nd and 3rd respectively. So yet again top 3 youth all on 125 Gassers...

I must add that i am very pleased with ALL my Team riders this year and congrats to you all.

Keep up the good work and look forward to next year...

Thanks for the pic of Sam by the infamous Eric Kitchen.

Thanks for the good weather!

Also MEGA to see Emmy Willerby at the Trial.

Cheers
