Reigning British MX2 Champion, Shaun Simpson, is already looking forward to this year's Grand Prix of Great Britain, his home round of the World Motocross Championship, which will take place at Mallory Park on the 30th and 31st May 2009.

The 21-year-old Scottish rider enjoyed his home race last year, which was heldat the Leicestershire venue for the very first time, and as hot favourite forthe 2009 MX2 World Championship, the factory Red Bull KTM pilot is sure to drawin massive support from the crowds.

"For me the 2008 British GrandPrix was one of the best meetings of the year," declared the Britishace. "Not only did I have good results, but also the crowd was right behindme. The track was really fun and technical. I liked the cool jumps, ruts andmany different lines, which for a rider is great as so many GP's only have onefast line, meaning that it's difficult to make up time."

"I look forwardto every Grand Prix, but my home round will be even more special this year as Iam one of the favourites for the championship. I'm sure there will be a massivebuzz and hopefully we can put in some good results for thefans."

Simpson says he's not making special preparations for theMallory Park event, and although he'll be under great demand to perform for thepassionate British fans, he is confident that he can put pressure aside andfocus on the race.

"I think you only put the pressure on yourself, but the best thing to do is to turn that into adrenalin out on track and give100%. Having the crowd hanging over the fence cheering you on is a feeling likeno other, and although there will be a lot of hype at the race, I need to dealwith the pressure and focus on the job in hand," continued the KTMpilot.

Simpson, who also rode at the RHL Activities organised WestonBeach Race in 2008, is impressed with the organization of the events, which aremasterminded by company director, Gareth Hockey.

"I thought the racelast year was a success, and I'm pleased the Grand Prix is staying at MalloryPark this year, as the circuit layout was really well put together. I also thinkGareth puts on a good event and I hope that we have another successful GrandPrix this year," concluded Simpson.

The Motocross Grand Prix ofGreat Britain, which includes the British round of the World Supermoto series,is being held at Mallory Park for the second year running in 2009. With theplanned off-track entertainment and live music, not to mention racing from thevery best riders on the planet, it's shaping up to be a phenomenalweekend.
