Motocross

GRAHAM Jarvis retained his British Trials Championship with a cracking ride in the final round of the 2007 series at Skyrakes Farm, near Skipton, Yorks, on Sunday. The switch to the Sherco 4T this year has given Graham a totally new focus and his dominant ride at Skyrakes gave him his first four-stroke crown. And in the Experts category, Joe Baker did a similar confident job to take his (and Scorpa importer Nigel Birkett's) first National crown on the SY250 two-stroke.

Graham was gracious in victory stating, I'mobviously chuffed to win the Championship but I really wanted to do sofair and square by beating Shaun (Morris) here today. I know it wouldhave been a really tight finish to the series as Shaun has been ridingon top form.

On the day, Graham did everything that he could, dominating from the start and eventually dropping half the score ofyoung pretenders Michael Brown and Alexz Wigg who joined him on thepodium. The trial was staged over three laps of 12 sections and Brownytook two of those circuits to get into his stride, when a final lap of12 eventually proved good enough to knock young Wiggy down to third.
