Take a Bou!
By TMX Archives on 22nd Mar 07
TONI Bou is the 2007 World Indoor Trials Champ but deposed king Adam Raga made a last defiant gesture with a win in the final round of the year in Madrid - which hoisted him into second place in the series, leap-frogging arch-rival Albert Cabestany on the factory Sherco.
With the pressure-off it was Raga back to his best although cynicswould point out that surely that is the point, Adam has been totallysuspect under pressure! A relaxed Bou finished a close second.
Britain's Dougie Lampkin signed-off in style with only his secondpodium appearance of the 07 Indoor season, matching his third place inMarseille back in January and putting the smiles onto theRepsol-Montesa faces.
A crowd of 6000 saw the 2007 Indoor season swing to a close with theusual suspects plus Marc Freixa finally getting an outing on thefactory Scorpa SY250T as the official wild card. Marc actually had areasonable ride, ending the eight sections in the Qualifier in fifthplace ahead of Takahisa Fujinami but unfortunately a full-house five onthe high jump dropped him to sixth - although he was still a long wayclear of Taddy Blazusiak who has had a nightmare Indoor season.
