AARON Ebbitt was set to show Mike Taylor how to handle the new track at Anglesey, and as Taylor started to suffer with machinery problems Ebbitt was quick to take the lead, closely followed by Colin Jackson. This pair went on to finish in first and second respectively.
By the second lap of the opener Gareth Thomas hadmoved into third spot ahead of Matt Lawry, and they continued to battlefor the whole race. Thomas eventually managed to secure third spot.
Just behind this battling duo were Steve Butlerand Mike Wright both chasing fifth spot but Butler took this one with aclear margin over the finish line.
Ebbitt went out flying in race two, with Jacksonagain on his heels. Taylor worked his way quickly through the grid tokeep both of these two in sight and by the penultimate lap he hadsecured second place and perhaps with a little more track time he couldhave improved on that. Steve Butler finished in fifth for the secondtime after some close racing with Gareth Thomas.
By the final race Taylor's mechanical problemswere behind him as he chased Ebbitt for the lead position, while Thomaswas all over the back of Steve Butler hounding him. Mike Wright and JoeHodgson were also having a terrific battle but the unfortunate Hodgsonwas left with a broken arm after rolling his quad.
The final race was then restarted and still Taylorpressured Ebbitt for the lead and he was successful going into thethird lap, while Thomas had moved in again on Butler and snatchedfourth but he had to fight to try and defend the position.
On the final lap Matt Lawry ousted Thomas forfourth spot and Butler also passed Thomas over the finish line to takefifth. Ebbitt had to concede the win to Taylor in the final race butthe former had the best of the points on the day dropping only twopoints from a maximum, while Colin Jackson had two consecutive thirdplace finishes.
