Terry's Classic day

ON what was a crisp, sunny autumn day, the Llanthony Classic Scramble Club played host to the final round of the Cambrian Tyres sponsored Welsh Championship.
The event was set in glorious rolling Welsh countryside on a very slick, fast, natural grassland circuit in prime condition, and with the points situation very close in a few catorgories the silverware was up for grabs.
Terry 'Top Cat' Challinor proved to be just that as he took a total of six race wins on the day. In the Pre-60 Unlimited and Metisse races he had to work hard for his two wins as Roger Dunford, winner of the opening encounter, and Dave Cooper were always there or there abouts on the pace. But it was Terry's extra bit of speed and track craft that took him to the overall win. Rob Griffiths took the overall win in the Pre-60 Unlimited division of these combined races.
The Pre-68 Unlimited class was also dominated by Terry as he took all three race wins, the first as he came from the back to overpower Rob Jones.
Terry's final win of the day came in the Over 45 class where he again just got the better of a flying Roger Dunford, with Phil Roberts bringing his CZ home in third place.
